As artists we are constantly evolving…
Some of us grasp to one thing & evolve within it. Some of us grasp on to many things & pick up morsels of skills & knowledge to evolve & move on to the next thing (that’s me)
Let me explain…
We all have a talent and or passion (even those of you that think you don’t) you just have to find it within yourself.
There are artists that are passionate about one thing whether it’s music, dance, art, etc…
They take that passion & work hard to mold it, perfect it & master it, evolving within it.
Then, there are artists that have multiple passions. They start with one, pick up another along the way and another and another & evolve into multiple. I can relate to this one.
If something interests me, I want to learn everything about it. I dive into it almost obsessively until I feel I have a good understanding of it. Then down the line something else comes along the way and the cycle begins again.
My evolution in brief: dancer, choreographer, teacher, music editor, photographer, videographer, director and I guess now, blogger. (I’m sure there will be another blog about this whole deal right here, so stay tuned)
There’s a point in ones evolution where you find ways to weave some or all your passions together & create some epic sh*t.
Then there’s the ultimate (well, I think it is) you turn around and mentor/teach others that have the same passion(s). You pass along the knowledge and skills you’ve acquired and somehow you end up learning something new, it’s a beautiful cycle.
So let’s sit down and reflect on our evolution as artists. (or in life) Just know that it doesn’t matter if you have one passion or many, it’s your own evolution.
